Kuster Announces Committee Assignments for 114th Congress

This morning, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement announcing her committee assignments for the 114th Congress. Congresswoman Kuster will continue to serve on the U.S. House Agriculture Committee and the U.S. House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. She has also been elected by her colleagues to serve as Ranking Member on the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations:

“I’m thrilled to continue to serve on the House Agriculture Committee and the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Since taking office, the Agriculture Committee has given me additional opportunities to work with local leaders on growing our rural economy, conserving our environment, and supporting New Hampshire priorities like organic farming, healthy forests, and food assistance for hungry families.  I look forward to continuing this vital work in the 114th Congress.”

“I’m also honored to continue to serve on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. As the daughter of a WWII veteran and prisoner of war, I understand the great sacrifices our veterans make to serve and protect this nation. I’ve met with hundreds of veterans across the state to learn how Congress can best meet their needs, and serving on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee gives me a unique and invaluable opportunity to continue fighting for them in Congress.”

“I’m additionally honored to be chosen to serve as Ranking Member on the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation. No veteran should ever face obstacles in receiving the medical care and benefits they’ve earned and deserve, and last year, I helped lead the investigation into the scandals at the Phoenix VA and other VA medical centers around the country. In this new leadership role, I’ll have increased opportunities to expand upon the work I’ve done in the Veterans’ Affairs Committee during the past two years, continue to push for crucial reforms at the VA, and help ensure that returning service members have access to the resources they need to make a successful transition to civilian life. I’m thrilled for this additional opportunity to serve our veterans in Congress. ”
