Kuster Attends Classified Briefing with Deputy Attorney General
Washington, DC,
May 19, 2017
Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) attended a classified briefing with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on the circumstances of former FBI Director James Comey’s firing. “I appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein about the events that led up to the dismissal of former FBI Director James Comey,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “I agree with his assessment that Mr. Comey exercised poor judgment in several instances over the past year. However, I remain deeply concerned about the timing and circumstances that led to his dismissal. I’m hopeful that the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel will help lead to answers about the firing of Mr. Comey. I continue to support the creation of an independent commission to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and how we can prevent future tampering in our democratic process.” ### |
