Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) helped introduce the Protecting Our Democracy Act, legislation to establish a bipartisan independent commission to investigate foreign interference in the 2016 elections. The legislation comes as the U.S. intelligence community affirms its conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 Presidential Election to benefit President-Elect Donald Trump.

“The integrity of our elections is an issue that transcends politics,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “I’m encouraged by the support of both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate for careful examination of efforts by Russia to undermine our elections, and I hope we can come together behind this issue in the House. It’s critical that we learn all we can about what type of interference took place so we can safeguard our democratic process in future elections.”
