Kuster Hosts Jobs and Opportunity Fair in Lebanon

Lebanon, NH – Today, as part of her commitment to helping local businesses grow and to supporting a skilled workforce, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) hosted a Jobs and Opportunity Fair in Lebanon. The fair connected local job seekers with employment opportunities and training resources throughout the Granite State.

“Since taking office, I have worked to support economic growth and employment opportunities for Granite State families,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “Despite a lower than average unemployment rate in New Hampshire, many employees remain underemployed and are forced to work multiple jobs in order to make ends meet. That’s why we must focus on fostering a skilled workforce that can fulfill the employment needs of our local businesses and help ensure our workers have good, well-paying jobs that adequately support their families. Today’s fair was about connecting job seekers with employers, but it was also about connecting Upper Valley residents with the training resources and education programs they need to meet the demands of expanding businesses in the Granite State. This was a wonderful opportunity to help support our growing economy, and I thank everyone who attended today’s fair!”

During the Jobs and Opportunity Fair, hosted at River Valley Community College in Lebanon, job seekers were able to talk with employers from the health care, construction, and financial industries, among others. Participating employers included Lake Sunapee Bank, Novo Nordisk, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, the Common Man Restaurant, and many others. The fair also featured a variety of workforce development programs, including WorkReadyNH and the Community College System of New Hampshire.

Since first taking office, Kuster has prioritized efforts to foster job creation, grow the economy, and improve workforce development. Kuster has hosted a series of jobs fairs since taking office, which have helped hundreds of job seekers learn about open positions and professional development opportunities around the state. The Lebanon jobs and opportunity fair gave residents a chance to learn about new opportunities in the area, and provided attendees with a chance to visit with the Congresswoman.
