Kuster Announces Winner of 2024 Congressional Art Competition

Concord, N.H. — Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) hosted a reception for students who participated in the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. During the reception, Kuster announced the winner of this year’s competition, Olivia Carroll of Windham High School. Carroll’s artwork, “Head in the Clouds,” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol building for one year alongside other winners from across the country. The reception was hosted at Kimball Jenkins School of Art in Concord.

“It was wonderful to see all the talent and creativity of New Hampshire's young artists on display tonight, and I am so impressed by each and every work of art,” said Kuster. “I want to thank all the students from across New Hampshire’s Second District who poured their time, energy, and passion into these amazing projects and for sharing their work with me. I look forward to seeing their continued impact on the arts in New Hampshire and beyond!”

“My painting was inspired by the idea of daydreaming and zoning out,” Olivia Carroll. “Ironically, I came up with the idea for the painting while daydreaming at work one day. I used oil paints in my piece because of the soft feeling they give the painting, helping to create an aura of comfort and peace of mind”
