Pursuing Smart Energy Policies

Climate change is an existential threat to our planet – we must take action to avert its worst effects and reduce carbon emissions.

I am working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to strengthen our power system and ensure it is renewable and resilient for generations to come. From advancing renewable energy production to lowering energy costs and creating a clean energy economy, I’m proud to bring New Hampshire’s energy priorities to Washington.

Advancing renewable energy production. Renewable energy is the lowest-cost energy available – we must take greater advantage of it. The United States has the opportunity to lead the global clean energy transition, but we must act now. I am working to support policies that increase domestic energy production and storage and support our local clean energy systems.

Lowering energy costs.
By investing in renewable resources at home, we can shield American families from the fluctuations and whims of global energy markets controlled by foreign adversaries. Importantly, renewable energy resources – such as wind, solar, and hydropower – rely on a free fuel source. Over the long term, this will lower costs for consumers.

Creating a clean energy economy. Clean energy has tremendous potential to create good-paying jobs in New Hampshire and all across the country.  A win-win for our economy and our planet. Clean energy can help build a new American workforce that grows our middle class, strengthens our economy, and invests in the innovative technologies of the future.
