Keene, NH – This morning as part of her Congress in Your Corner series, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) held a town hall forum for students at Keene State. During the forum, students and faculty got a chance to share their thoughts on how Congress can best increase college accessibility and education programs in general.

“During this morning’s discussion, I heard directly from students at Keene State about how they think Congress can work to expand educational opportunities for Granite State families,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “From creating programs to help middle class families more effectively save for their children’s tuition, to fighting for lower student loan interest rates, these students provided me with excellent feedback to take back to Washington. On their behalf, I will never stop fighting to increase access to higher education for every Granite State student.”

During today’s town hall forum, Keene State students shared their own experiences with the Congresswoman, and expressed their thoughts and concerns about new proposals to expand education access, such as the President’s plan to provide two free years of community college. Kuster was joined at the town hall by Keene State administrators and other higher education professionals, who also provided insight and resources for the students in attendance.

Kuster has long fought to increase access to education for every student in the Granite State. During the town hall, she discussed her own priorities this legislative session, including increased efforts in Congress to help American families save for their children’s college tuition, and a bill she supports that would allow students to refinance their student loans at a lower rate. Kuster routinely holds roundtables and forums across the state to hear directly from Granite State students about how she can best support their success in Congress, and she will continue to meet with other students at schools across the Second District.
