Congresswoman Annie Kuster Meets with Local Farmers and Tradespeople at NH Farm and Forest Expo

Kuster serves on the House Agriculture Committee, and has prioritized efforts to help local, small farmers expand and create more jobs for Granite State workers

This morning, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) attended the 32nd Annual New Hampshire Farm and Forest Expo, where she met with local farmers and tradespeople, and heard from them about ways that Congress can best help the farm and agriculture industry in New Hampshire succeed. Kuster is a member of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture, and she is committed to fighting for initiatives that benefit the state’s rural economy.

“This morning’s Farm and Forest Expo provided me with a great opportunity to meet with local farmers and others involved in the state’s robust agriculture industry,” said Congresswoman Annie Kuster. “Events like this are important networking tools for everyone working to position New Hampshire as a leader in the agriculture and forestry trades, and I was so pleased to get a chance to hear directly from the event attendees about how Congress can continue to support the success of these vital New Hampshire industries.”

The 32nd Annual Farm and Forest Expo is hosted by the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Food and Markets, the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, and the New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands.  Over 104 agriculture businesses, organizations, and institutions signed up to attend as exhibitors.

A Member of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture, and its Conservation and Forestry Subcommittee, Kuster is committed to helping our local farm and forestry industries expand and grow. She helped Congress pass a bipartisan Farm Bill during her first term, which included important measures that would benefit small farms like those found in the Granite State. Last year, she successfully fought back against overly burdensome Obama Administration regulations that could have hurt local New Hampshire farms.
