Kuster hosts forum at Nashua Community College about women in high-tech fields
NASHUA – U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster appeared Thursday at Nashua Community College to host a forum to discuss the role of women in the technology sector, a growing field in southern New Hampshire.
Kuster, D-N.H., led the all-female panel to focus on the opportunities for women, especially younger women, in the high-tech industry. The forum also reviewed college-related issues and how women can earn their way into leadership roles.
Women represent a small portion of the workforce in STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and math – and Kuster said prospective female students should have the resources and support needed to enter such jobs, especially with the rising costs of college.
