Feb 19, 2020
Press Release

Nashua, NH – Yesterday, Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) sat down with local government officials, community leaders and energy and environmental experts at the Nashua Public Library to receive an update on the city’s clean energy initiatives as part of her clean energy listening tour. Kuster also discussed her Clean Energy Agenda, which consists of legislation – including many bipartisan bills – that Kuster is supporting to address climate change and transition to a clean energy economy. As part of her clean energy listening tour, Kuster has met with community leaders across New Hampshire. Her Clean Energy Agenda was unveiled last month.

“Climate change poses a serious threat to our environment, way of life, and economic well-being in the Granite State,” said Kuster. “Building a clean, energy efficient economy is key to mitigating the threat climate change poses to our communities and state. I was proud to discuss my agenda that aims to tackle climate change from all sides using bipartisan, common-sense solutions that will have both immediate and lasting results in reducing carbon pollution and facilitating the expansion of renewable energy. With its solar arrays and electric buses, Nashua is doing great work to combat the climate crisis, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity to hear from the leaders and experts at yesterday’s discussion. I look forward to sharing their insights with my colleagues as we continue working to protect our environment and address climate change.”

“Fidelity Investments is committed to making a positive impact for a more sustainable future for the state of New Hampshire,” said Joe Murray, Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs at Fidelity Investments. “On our Merrimack campus, whether it’s our composter and green rooftops, or our solar array, miles of walking trails and charging stations for our employee’s vehicles, we are proud of the impact we are making on our campus and in our state.”

In October, Kuster joined elected officials, BAE employees and local transportation and community development officials at the ribbon cutting ceremony for Nashua’s two new hybrid buses. Kuster wrote a letter of support for the city’s application for grant funds from the Transit Administration’s Low or No Emissions program to help pay for the buses.

Kuster’s Clean Energy Agenda explores the Congresswoman’s work in Congress to promote investment in renewable energy while creating green jobs and protecting America’s national security from devastating weather events. The agenda can be viewed here.
