Kuster Career and Opportunities Fair Draws Hundreds of Job Seekers to Concord

CONCORD, N.H. – As part of her commitment to creating jobs and opportunity for middle class families, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) today hosted her second Career and Opportunities Fair to help connect local residents with jobs and employment opportunities throughout the Granite State. The fair drew nearly 300 job seekers to the Holiday Inn in Concord, where they met with representatives from more than 30 employers and service agencies with over 1,000 job openings. “From day one, my top priority has been to create jobs and better opportunity for middle class families across the Granite State,” Kuster said. “That’s what today’s Career and Opportunities Fair is all about – connecting local job seekers with a wide variety of New Hampshire employers who are looking to expand their businesses, hire new workers, and grow the economy. I was proud to host today’s event, and look forward to holding additional job fairs in the months ahead.” “The economy still isn’t where we want it to be. For Congresswoman Kuster to hold these jobs fairs around the state, it’s a great service for her constituents,” said Larry Major, Government Relations Director for Pike Industries, Inc., an asphalt producer with locations around New Hampshire. “With all the gridlock in Washington, it’s a great example of the important work our representatives can still do back home in their communities.” The jobs fair was Kuster’s second in four months. In November, nearly 300 Granite Staters attended her first Career and Opportunities Fair, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua. Thursday’s Career and Opportunities Fair featured employers and service agencies representing the manufacturing, finance, healthcare, and hospitality industries, among others.
