Kuster Inspects Facilities at Manchester VA Medical Center

(Manchester, NH) – Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), the Ranking Member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations, visited the Manchester VA Medical Center to inspect the construction taking place at the facility following severe flooding last July. Kuster also received an update on operations at the facility.

“We know that the Manchester VAMC has faced serious challenges in providing veterans with the care and services they deserve,” said Kuster. “I was encouraged by my review of the facility today and pleased with my meeting with leadership to discuss needed improvements taking place to address deficiencies in veteran care. VA leadership is taking actions to resolve the failures of the facility and I’ll continue to hold leadership accountable and advocate on behalf of Granite State veterans.

“As a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs I’m working to advance legislation that will strengthen care within the VA but also expand access to care for veterans at facilities within their communities. I am also pushing for the VA to prioritize construction at the Manchester facility. We have a long way to go to ensure that every veteran in New Hampshire and across the country receives the care and support they need. I’m committed to working across the aisle to make that a reality.”
