Colebrook, NH – This morning, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) launched her August North Country tour with a visit to Codet, Inc. to discuss her efforts to support job creation and the manufacturing economy in New Hampshire. During her tour of the protective clothing manufacturing facility in Colebrook, Kuster heard from management and staff about their day-to-day operations. This visit was also part of Kuster’s “Congress At Your Company” series, which allows the Congresswoman to hear directly from businesses across the state about what Congress can do to best support their success. “I was thrilled to see firsthand the great production work Codet is doing right here in Colebrook,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “As a firm believer in ‘making it in America,’ we must support businesses like these that employ workers at home in New Hampshire, instead of sending jobs overseas. I look forward to helping companies like Codet and others continue to bring jobs back home for Granite State workers.” Codet manufactures a range of protective clothing and apparel. In April, Codet announced plans to expand their Colebrook facility with an 11,500 square foot addition and 25 new jobs. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. Kuster’s “Congress at Your Company” series is part of her ongoing commitment to meeting with business leaders and employees throughout the district to discuss ways the federal government can better support job creation and economic growth in the Granite State. Earlier this year, Congresswoman Kuster released her Middle Class Jobs and Opportunity Agenda, a blueprint that reflects ideas and input she has heard from Granite Staters all across New Hampshire’s second district over the previous year. Since taking office, Kuster has traveled to every corner of the second district to hear from educators, entrepreneurs, workers, and families about how Congress can help create jobs and grow the economy. Their thoughts and ideas form the foundation of the Jobs and Opportunity Agenda, which outlines a series of common sense, bipartisan steps – ranging from doubling down on investments in innovation and job training, to streamlining government programs – that Congress can take to help small business owners and middle class families achieve their goals. The visit to Codet was the first stop on Congresswoman Kuster's North Country tour. A member of the U.S. House Veterans' Affairs Committee and a strong advocate for veteran rights, today Congresswoman Kuster continued her tour with a visit to the Wounded Warrior @ 45 North project in Pittsburg to hear about new ways to better help veterans recuperate from traumatic injuries. ### |
