Kuster, Pappas Hold Fourth Telephone Town Hall on Coronavirus
Washington, DC,
April 2, 2020
Concord, NH – Today, Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) held a telephone town hall to discuss the COVID-19 (coronavirus) public health crisis and take questions from New Hampshire residents. Kuster and Pappas were joined on the call by Dr. Michael Calderwood, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Epidemiologist and Infectious Disease Expert, and Rachael Roderick, the Deputy District Director at the New Hampshire District Office for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The Representatives and officials answered questions from Granite Staters about New Hampshire’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak and steps Congress is taking to bolster the local health response and provide economic relief to families and small businesses. Nearly 14,000 New Hampshire residents joined the call where they received an update on legislation to mitigate the financial impact of COVID-19 and information about resources to access small business loans, unemployment insurance, and more. “We’re all in this together as we work to slow the spread of COVID-19, and I appreciate the opportunity to hear from Granite Staters and ensure that they have the information and resources they need to keep themselves and their loved ones safe during this crisis,” said Kuster. “I thank Dr. Calderwood and Rachael Roderick for joining us to provide updates and answer questions during this unprecedented situation. Protecting the health and well-being of New Hampshire families, supporting small businesses and workers, and protecting those who are on the frontlines of this pandemic are my top priorities and I’ll continue working across the aisle to ensure our state can begin to focus on recovery sooner rather than later. As always, Granite Staters can contact my office by giving our Concord office a call at (603) 226-1002 or visiting my website at kuster.house.gov.” “As we grapple with the far-reaching impacts of this pandemic, Congresswoman Kuster and I remain committed to staying connected with our constituents and elevating the voices of community leaders that are instrumental in getting Granite Staters the resources and information they need,” said Congressman Pappas. “While we continue to work on a coordinated response that supports New Hampshire’s healthcare system, families, and main street economy, I encourage any constituents who need assistance to reach out to my office. You can get in contact with my office by calling us at (603) 285-4300 or by going to our website at http://pappas.house.gov/.” In the past three weeks prior to tonight, Kuster and Pappas held three telephone town halls, and the Representatives will continue to keep the community updated on federal efforts to support and protect Granite Staters and people across the country. This tele-town hall was conducted remotely, as both Reps. Kuster and Pappas are working from home when possible to practice physical distancing. ### |
