Kuster Statement in Advance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Concord, N.H.,
January 14, 2018
(Concord, NH) - Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement in advance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. devoted his life to fighting inequality and injustice, but it was not just the end of hateful prejudice for which he fought. Through the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington, the Selma voting rights movement, and more, Dr. King worked to build a world of equal opportunity for all of our sons and daughters, and all of our friends and neighbors, no matter their skin color, religion, heritage or economic background. Now, as we come together to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day almost 50 years after his death, it is more important than ever that all Americans work to keep Dr. King’s vision alive and commit to strengthening our nation by promoting diversity and cultural understanding throughout our communities." ### |
