Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement today after President Obama signed the Violence Against Women Act reauthorization into law.

“For almost two decades, the Violence Against Women Act has extended critical protections to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Today, because bipartisan majorities in the House and Senate came together to reauthorize and strengthen this vital legislation, President Obama was able to sign it into law. This law will ensure that all victims of domestic violence get the protections they need, including new protections for women in tribal communities, immigrants, and members of the LGBT community. As we mark this important step forward, we recommit ourselves to continuing the fight to end domestic violence and sexual assault in our communities.”
