Kuster Statement on Release of the Redacted Mueller Report

(Concord, NH) – Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the release of the redacted report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Russian interference in the 2016 election:

“This redacted report raises many questions about involvement of the Trump campaign with Russian interference in the 2016 election, the knowledge and actions of now President Trump and the alarming ‘information warfare’ operation waged against the United States by Russia,” said Kuster. “Congressional leaders should be provided with unredacted copies of the Mueller report, as well as all underlying evidence, as soon as possible so that the full scope of the investigation and its findings can be assessed. Additionally, Mr. Mueller should publicly testify before Congress so that his conclusions, including potential obstruction of justice by the President, can be examined without the influence of the Attorney General.”

“This report further confirms in great detail the lengths to which Russia sought to influence our elections and undermine our democracy. The protection of our electoral processes should not be a partisan issue and I’m disturbed by the unwillingness of the Trump Administration to hold Russia and President Putin responsible for their brazen attack on the 2016 election. Congress must act to safeguard our electoral systems and ensure that the American people have full confidence in our democracy.”
