Kuster: The American People Deserve Campaign Finance Reform

**Kuster calls for campaign finance reform and voting right protections**

Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), a vice-chair of “The By the People Project,” is highlighting the need for Congressional campaign finance reform and protection for American voters. Kuster is a co-sponsor of the Government By the People Act, which will empower individuals by creating small donor matching funds, and the DISCLOSE Act, which would create more transparency in campaign advertising and fundraising. Kuster also backs the Voter Empowerment Act and the Voting Rights Advancement Act, which will simplify the registration process for voting and protecting historically marginalized voting communities.

“People in New Hampshire and across the country feel as if the system is rigged against them and they’re right,” said Kuster. “Undisclosed political funding is overwhelming our democracy, drowning out the voices of hardworking Americans, and nationwide the right to vote is under attack. The American people deserve campaign finance reform and to know that their right to access the ballot will not be interfered with. That’s why I’m pushing for meaningful reforms that will protect everyone’s right to access the ballot and to empower average Americans to stand up to dark money in politics. The time for action is now; our democracy depends on it.”
