Kuster Votes for Bipartisan Legislation to Re-open Government, Provide Resources for Border Security

Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) backed bipartisan legislation to re-open the government and provide $1.6 billion for border security initiatives including $524.2 million for improvements at ports of entry and $563.4 million for additional immigration judges. The bipartisan package is based on legislation previously negotiated between House and Senate Republicans and Democrats prior to the shutdown.

“We are a month into President Trump’s irresponsible shutdown, which is putting pressure on Granite State federal workers and endangering the safety of all Americans as individuals responsible for critical services go without pay,” said Kuster. “Today I voted for the tenth time to re-open the government and I’m encouraged that a number of our Republican colleagues joined in supporting this legislation. I urge the Senate to follow suit so Congress can focus on the hard work expected of us by the American people.”
