On Sixteenth Anniversary of September 11, Kuster Visits Walter Reed Veterans National Military Medical Center
(Bethesda, MD) – Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) visited the Walter Reed Veterans National Military Medical Center on the sixteenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Kuster also toured the Center’s National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NiCOE), the Military Advanced Training Center, and the John P. Murtha Cancer Center.
“Sixteen years ago, our country was shocked and saddened by the despicable acts of terrorism that took place at the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, and in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 of our fellow citizens—among them Granite Staters and first responders trying to help others—lost their lives on that dark day. In the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, thousands of brave Americans volunteered to serve and protect our country. We will never forget their heroism, patriotism, and sacrifice. We owe an incredible debt of gratitude on this day and every day to the courageous wounded warriors who are recovering at Walter Reed Veterans Medical Center.”
