Concord, N.H. – Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement in response to the Boston Globe’s story about a VA whistleblower:

“Whistleblowers play a critical role in bringing wrongdoing, abuse, and mismanagement to light and ensuring government organizations and those who are in power are held accountable for their actions. The alarming news about reported incidents and whistleblower retaliation at the White River Junction VA Medical Center is unsettling and unacceptable, and I will be monitoring the situation closely. We must do everything in our power to ensure veterans are receiving the care they need and deserve, and that all VA employees are treated fairly and with respect.”

In 2017, Rep. Kuster’s provision was included in the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act that was signed into law.
