Rep. Kuster Statement on Whistleblower Complaint
Washington, DC,
September 24, 2019
Today, Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) issued the following statement on the Trump Administration’s efforts to unlawfully block Congress from reviewing a whistleblower complaint deemed of “urgent concern and credible.” “I am deeply troubled that the Trump Administration is preventing the Director of National Intelligence from abiding by the law and providing Congress with a whistleblower complaint that was deemed urgent and credible by the Trump-appointed Inspector General. The law is clear — the full whistleblower complaint must be turned over to the Intelligence Committees in the House and Senate, and this whistleblower must have an opportunity to speak directly to the Committees. This Administration is violating the law by preventing this complaint from reaching Congress, and both Democrats and Republicans should come together to demand the Administration follow the law and that this whistleblower complaint be shared with the appropriate officials to protect our national security and our Constitution.” ### |
