Today at 6:30 pm, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) will host a live listening session with Granite Staters to hear their views on the situation in Syria. In recent days, Kuster has praised President Obama for consulting closely with Congress on the potential use of force in Syria, and has underscored the importance of hearing directly from her constituents on this critical issue. “The question of using military force in Syria is vitally important to people across New Hampshire and around the country,” Kuster said. “As Congress prepares to address this critical issue, I want to hear directly from my constituents and make sure that their voices are part of the debate.” Kuster has expressed grave concerns in recent days about the proposed use of military force in Syria. While she believes the international community must hold the Assad regime accountable for its horrific use of chemical weapons against its own people, Kuster is concerned that U.S. military intervention could have unintended consequences in the region. This week, she has been briefed by senior administration officials on the latest developments in Syria and she will continue to monitor the situation closely. Today at 6:30 pm, constituents will receive an automated phone call inviting them to stay on the line to join the listening session and share their views on the situation in Syria.
