Franklin, N.H. — Today, Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) joined the groundbreaking ceremony for the first feature of Franklin’s white-water park, Mill City Park at Franklin Falls. A strong supporter of the Mill City Park project, Rep. Kuster recently secured $1,200,000 in the INVEST in America Act to construct a pedestrian walkway on a historic trestle bridge in Franklin connecting Mill City with Trestle View Park. This project will build on Franklin’s tremendous efforts to enhance its appeal as a world-class white-water destination.
“The City of Franklin has so much to offer, and I am thrilled to see the Mill City Park at Franklin Falls project get underway,” said Rep. Kuster. “The Park will enhance the region’s thriving outdoor industry while ensuring Franklin continues to realize new economic opportunities. I was proud to champion the inclusion of critical local infrastructure projects in the House-passed INVEST in America Act earlier this month and I commend the tireless efforts of public and private partners and leaders for making Mill City Park a reality. The community spirit seen today is what makes the Granite State such a special place to live, work and play!”
Kuster has been working to support the City of Franklin’s economic development through the Mill City White-Water Park from conception to completion. Kuster has endorsed Franklin’s funding applications to USDA Rural Development and EDA through letters of support to the agencies, and through her work as a member of the House Agriculture Committee.
