Hello Friends,

This week, Congress passed legislation with support from both Republicans and Democrats to ensure veterans exposed to toxic chemicals and burn pits while serving in uniform have the care they need. The Honoring Our Pact Act makes good on our promise to our veterans by addressing the full range of issues impacting those exposed to toxic chemicals. 

I’m proud to bring the voices of Granite State veterans to Congress.

Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country — they shouldn’t have to worry about receiving care for injuries sustained while in uniform.

During President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, he spoke about the progress our country has made over the past year, the challenges we continue to face, and how we are going to overcome them. I applaud the President's steadfast commitment to standing with the people of Ukraine as they resist Russian invasion. Like he said, ‘Freedom will always triumph over tyranny.’

And, as the founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Addiction & Mental Health Task Force, I especially appreciated his renewed focus on addressing the addiction and mental health crisis in our country. America is strong because Americans are strong — and together, we will overcome our shared challenges and build a brighter future for all.

Granite State doctors, nurses, and frontline workers have been there through every step of this pandemic.

I want to extend a sincere thank you to Noah Clay, an ICU nurse at Cheshire Medical Center, for joining me as my virtual guest for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address this week.

Since starting his nursing career during the pandemic, Noah has been hard at work serving our communities and keeping Granite Staters safe. New Hampshire would not be where we are without the work of Noah and his colleagues, and we are very lucky to have them!

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine.

The United States stands with the people of Ukraine. I have been so heartened by the global outpouring of support for Ukraine and international calls for peace.

We will continue working with our allies and international partners to ensure Vladimir Putin faces severe consequences for his unprovoked aggression and Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine. I will continue working with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle to support the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves and their democracy.

As the founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force, I will always work to support those struggling with substance use.

This Women’s History Month, I am looking forward to honoring the incredible female leaders who have made our country what it is.

At the start of Women’s History Month, I am reflecting on the life, career, and impact of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Justice Ginsburg was truly a trailblazer, and her incredible legacy continues to inspire generations of women across the country.

I have repeatedly called on the Biden administration to use every tool we have at our disposal to shield Granite Staters from additional energy costs caused by inflation and now the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 

This week, the White House and our allies announced that critical oil supplies will be released from our reserves. I will continue working with the White House and my colleagues to ease the economic burden on Granite State families.

Wednesday marked two years since the first confirmed COVID-19 case in New Hampshire. Since that time of uncertainty, our country has made tremendous strides against this virus. From safe, effective vaccines and boosters to wide-range testing and evidence-based treatments, we are turning the tide on this pandemic. 

As we remember the challenges of the past two years and embrace common-sense precautions moving forward, I want to thank all of our Granite State health care workers who have been on the frontlines working to keep our communities safe.
