I hope you are having a safe and wonderful weekend! You may have seen that President Biden addressed the nation from the Oval Office this week about his future and the path forward.

I’m incredibly thankful for President Biden’s service to our country over the years.

During his address, President Biden laid out his plans for the next several months as well as his vision for the future, and I appreciated him taking the time to address the country.

I have been proud to work with the Biden-Harris Administration over the years to pass meaningful, bipartisan legislation to move our nation forward and better the lives of hard-working Granite Staters. From rescuing our economy from the depths of the pandemic to rebuilding our country’s aging infrastructure and creating millions of good-paying jobs to signing the single largest investment in clean energy and climate mitigation into law, President Biden has secured his legacy as one the most consequential presidents in modern history.

I look forward to continuing to work with the Biden-Harris Administration throughout the remainder of President Biden’s term to lower costs, expand opportunities for all, and protect our personal freedoms.

Keeping the Government Working for Granite Staters

New Democrat Coalition Appropriations Statement

Our government works best when Republicans and Democrats work together and govern from the middle out.

Last year, during the debt ceiling negotiations, Democrats and Republicans agreed to a bipartisan government funding deal to ensure that this year’s appropriations process was timely and successful. After repeatedly failing to pass their own partisan funding bills, Speaker Johnson and House Republican leadership have thrown in the towel and sent Congress back to their districts early for the August work period instead of working with Democrats to pass commonsense, bipartisan spending bills.

This is unacceptable and a disservice to hardworking families. As Chair of the New Democrat Coalition, I will continue to work across the aisle to advance the original bipartisan funding deal and keep our government open and working for the American people.

Promoting Sustainable Fuel Sources

We can lower costs for hard-working families and work to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change.

Biodiesels are efficient and competitive alternatives to traditional diesel fuel sources and can play a critical role in accelerating the United States’ transition to a clean, carbon-neutral economy.

Granite Staters are all too familiar with high energy prices, and this week, I was proud to help introduce bipartisan legislation to extend the Biodiesel Tax Credit. This bill will help lower costs for small businesses and households across New Hampshire while reducing harmful emissions–a win-win!

Lowering Energy Costs for New Hampshire Families

Renewable energy is the lowest-cost energy available, and we know that here in New Hampshire, improving energy efficiency in our homes and commercial buildings can help lower costs for families and pave the way toward a clean energy future.

This week, the Department of Energy announced that New Hampshire is set to receive significant funding from the Inflation Reduction Act to help more Granite Staters install energy-efficient heat pumps in their homes, saving families money and reducing pollution.

Fighting for Reproductive Freedom

I’ll keep fighting for less government interference in our personal, private lives.

Families in New Hampshire and across the country deserve to choose if, when, and how to start a family—full stop.

Thursday was World IVF Day, and while extreme Republicans continue to push dangerous policies to control women’s bodies, I was proud to stand with the Democratic Women’s Caucus in calling on Republican leadership to allow a vote on legislation to codify the right to access reproductive technologies like IVF.

I will always fight to protect a woman’s right to make the personal, private health care decisions that are right for her and her family.

Jet Blue is Coming to New Hampshire: This week, Jet Blue announced that starting in January, it will start year-round service to Orlando and winter seasonal service to Ft. Lauderdale and Ft. Myers, all in Florida, from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport!

This new service will benefit our tourism industry and economy, and it will provide Granite Staters more options for travel!
