Hello Friends,

I hope you are having a safe and wonderful weekend. With the 2024 elections behind us, lawmakers returned to Washington this week with several legislative priorities to address before the end of the year. While I am retiring at the end of my current term, I promise to continue fighting to tackle the issues and priorities that matter to Granite State families throughout the remainder of the 118th Congress.

I was honored to welcome the New Democrat Coalition’s Class of 2025 to Washington!

As some of you know, I currently serve as Chair of the New Democrat Coalition, a group of pragmatic, solutions-driven Democratic lawmakers focused on lowering costs, growing the middle class, creating good-paying jobs, and breaking through partisan gridlock to deliver results for hardworking families.

This week, I was thrilled to welcome our Coalition back to Washington to help our new members get situated during their freshmen orientation. In the 119th Congress, our Coalition will have at least 109 members, the largest it's ever been!

While Republicans will maintain control of the House of Representatives next year, it will be with a razor-thin majority. This means that for bills to pass the chamber, Republicans will effectively have to rely on our Coalition and Democrats to advance any significant pieces of legislation. I’ve always said that our government works best when Republicans and Democrats come together to tackle the big issues facing our country, so I hope to see a renewed spirit of bipartisanship in the 119th Congress.

Celebrating Three Years of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues to deliver for New Hampshire’s communities and economy!

Three years ago, Congress passed the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the largest investment to modernize our country’s aging infrastructure in decades. This legislation is continuing to deliver for New Hampshire by repairing our crumbling infrastructure, improving public safety, reconnecting our communities, and creating good-paying jobs all across our state.

Since then, New Hampshire has added thousands of in-demand jobs and has been awarded significant investments to support clean energy production, infrastructure improvements, and our manufacturing industry. Additionally, ReGen Valley, led by the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) in Manchester, was designated as a Tech Hub. This designation will position New Hampshire as a leader in developing advanced biofabrication technologies—benefiting the health and well-being of our communities while growing our workforce and stimulating our economy.

Protecting Your Hard-Earned Social Security Benefits

I'll always fight to protect Granite Staters' hard-earned benefits.

Granite Staters pay into Social Security their entire lives—they expect and deserve the benefits they are owed. But for too long, the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GOP) have unfairly reduced or eliminated earned Social Security benefits for thousands of public servants in New Hampshire, from our firefighters and police officers to teachers and government employees.

This week, I was proud to vote for the Social Security Fairness Act—bipartisan legislation to repeal these harmful provisions that reduced the hard-earned benefits our state and country’s public servants have earned and deserve.

Medicare Open Enrollment: Attention, Granite Staters! Medicare Open Enrollment is underway through December 7th! Because of changes Democrats made to Medicare, seniors can receive recommended vaccines at no cost, the cost of life-saving insulin has been capped at $35 a month, and beginning in 2025, prescription drug out-of-pocket costs will be capped at $2,000!

There's still time to visit medicare.gov and choose a plan that’s right for you!
