It is the honor of my life to represent our state in Congress. Part of that job includes fighting to bring federal resources back home to lift up our economy and communities.

I wanted to give you an update on some of the recent funding, grants, and investments that I helped secure for New Hampshire and highlight the incredible organizations that are paving a brighter path forward for all.

Firefighters across New Hampshire put themselves in harm’s way every single day to keep our communities safe – it is critical that we ensure these brave first responders have the tools, training, and resources they need to protect themselves on the job.

Earlier this year, I was thrilled to help announce more than $1 million in federal grants heading to New Hampshire fire departments to support their operations and safety. I will always fight for our Granite State firefighters.

When we invest in the strength and resilience of our health care workforce, our entire state feels the benefits.

Earlier this year, Elliot Hospital was awarded $3 million in federal funding to expand its nursing program and train more health care workers. Nurses make high-quality health care possible for communities all across New Hampshire, and it is essential that we support them and invest in the next generation of qualified care professionals. This funding will help make that a reality. 

Last month, I was also proud to announce that $650,000 in federal funding is heading to the University of New Hampshire to address primary care workforce shortages and expand access to health care in rural and underserved communities.

I will continue working to close the health care coverage gap and ensure no one is denied the care they need.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Package has brought significant funding to our state and communities, and this game-changing piece of legislation continues to deliver for New Hampshire.

Last month, nearly $197 million was awarded to our state to strengthen our broadband infrastructure and increase access to reliable, high-speed internet. When we expand access to high-speed broadband, we expand access to economic opportunities and create new ways for Granite Staters to thrive. 

This significant funding will strengthen our broadband infrastructure and connect more families, students, small businesses, and communities with the access they need.

New Hampshire is a wonderful place to live and raise a family – and our communities are made stronger when we invest in our infrastructure and the resiliency of our roads, bridges, and highways.

Earlier this year, I helped announce more than $1.8 million in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Package to modernize and upgrade our airports in Concord, Merrimack, and Lebanon. These projects will help bring more visitors into New Hampshire and help grow our economy. I am thrilled to see these significant grants heading to our state to improve and modernize our air travel infrastructure. 

Last month, I was also proud to announce $20 million in federal funds heading to New Hampshire to support the construction of the General Sullivan Bridge Bicycle and Pedestrian Crossing in Rockingham and Strafford Counties. This project will replace the closed General Sullivan Bridge with walking- and bicycling-only access across Little Bay, increasing ways for residents and visitors to explore the area and improving safety – a win-win.

These projects will bring new opportunities and business to New Hampshire – I look forward to their completion and those to come!

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

Earlier this year, I was proud to help announce more than $9 million in federal funding to provide housing relief and rental assistance to families in need across New Hampshire. The pause of New Hampshire’s Emergency Rental Assistance program left our most vulnerable neighbors in a state of uncertainty. This funding will help Granite Staters make ends meet as we continue to address the housing crisis and build long-term solutions.

I will keep working to lower housing costs across New Hampshire and to ensure every family has the support they need to thrive.

Here in New Hampshire, our environment plays a significant role in our quality of life and in our economy – we have a responsibility to protect it for generations to come.

Earlier this year, I helped announce nearly $1 million in federal funding to promote workforce development and expand climate resiliency efforts through the Northern Forest Center. As we address the impacts of climate change, it is crucial our public and private forests have the resources to research the best practices for forest management and clean energy production. This funding will help make that a reality here in New Hampshire and across New England.
