Hello Friends,

Today marks one year since Russia began its illegal invasion of Ukraine. As we mark this somber anniversary, I want to reflect on and applaud the strength and resiliency of the Ukrainian people. This war represents more than a flagrant violation of international law; it is a struggle between autocracy and democracy. I will always stand with those defending democracy.

President Biden’s visit to Ukraine earlier this month underscores the United States’ support for democracy and freedom here at home and across the globe. We stand united with Ukraine in defending against Russia’s brutal and unwarranted aggression.

Our winter sports and tourism industry are cornerstones of our economy and way of life. 

Winter sports play a critical role in our state’s economy and culture – and we must do more to protect them.

It was great to sit down with Ski New Hampshire and other outdoor recreation leaders at Loon Mountain last week to discuss their season so far and the opportunities they see for the future! I will continue advocating for our ski areas and tourism economy in Congress.

Working together we can lower costs and improve our health systems.

Last Friday, I met with Mid-State Health leaders and employees to discuss their new facility and the federal funding I secured to support their work. 

Mid-State Health is a key partner and resource for New Hampshire, from expanding primary care services to supporting our rural communities. I will continue supporting their work and expanding access to high-quality, affordable health care.

Earlier this week, I met with local leadership in Keene.

On Wednesday, I met with community leaders in Keene to discuss important funding awarded by the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) to improve and invest in our emergency communication systems in Cheshire county.

I’m proud to have expanded funding for the NBRC to make projects like these possible. You can learn more about this important funding here.

I will keep working to improve and expand health care access for New Hampshire seniors.

Medicare Advantage provides critical benefits for seniors and people with disabilities. This week, I joined a roundtable with New Hampshire health care leaders and advocates to discuss this program's importance. 

I’ll keep working to lower health care costs for Granite Staters.

Survivors of domestic violence shouldn't face additional barriers separating from their abuser's phone plan. That's why I led the charge to pass the Safe Connections Act in 2022 to ensure victims have the tools to leave a shared phone plan.
