New Hampshire’s farmers and producers have faced a tough year as severe weather wiped out essential crops and impacted yields. This week, I was pleased to see the U.S. Department of Agriculture listen to New England apple growers and delay a ruling on the Apple Crop Provisions program. 

I encourage the USDA to continue these conversations and create a program that will meet the needs of New England orchards.

Americans saw a nearly 16% increase in emergency room wait time from 2014 to 2022. Right here in New Hampshire, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s emergency department has hit its patient capacity and reports being overcrowded for weeks. We must do more to ensure patients receive timely, quality care.

This week, I led 25 of my colleagues in urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to evaluate and alleviate overcrowding and long wait times in emergency departments nationwide.
