This week, I joined Granite State veterans and those across the country in recognizing Memorial Day and honoring the brave men and women in uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.

These heroes will never be forgotten.

I hope you found time on Monday to reflect on the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans, active duty service members, and their families.

On Monday, I was proud to join my fellow Granite Staters and Denis McDonough, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen to pay tribute to all the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Our men and women in uniform and their families embody the courage, patriotism, and dedication that is sacred to our nation and our American ideals.

Whether it be oversight of sexual harassment cases or expanded nutrition assistance, I will continue to advocate for the needs and priorities of those who serve our country in uniform.

Our nation’s veterans and their families have made incredible sacrifices for our country, and it is essential that we honor their patriotism with the respect and benefits they have earned. As the daughter of a WWII veteran and POW, advocating for our Granite State men and women in uniform is personal to me. 

This week, I was proud to announce my support for a slate of legislation to ensure our nation’s service members and their families have the tools they need to thrive. I will continue to bring the voices of our Granite State veterans to Congress.

Rising prices at the pharmacy counter are hurting families across New Hampshire — I’m working to lower the cost of life-saving prescription drugs.

On Tuesday, I joined Protect Our Care NH and the Concord Chamber of Commerce to discuss ongoing efforts to lower the cost of prescription drugs for Granite Staters.

Just this month, I was proud to advance my bill, the Increasing Transparency In Generic Drug Applications Act, through the Energy and Commerce Committee to help remove barriers and get lower-cost drugs to market quickly and efficiently. I will continue working with my colleagues across the aisle to lower prescription drug costs for all Americans.

As the founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Task Force to End Sexual Violence, I am proud to advocate for our nation’s forensic nurses to support survivors as they recover and seek justice.

Our nation’s forensic nurses are on the front lines in their communities, caring for victims of sexual assault and ensuring perpetrators are held to account for their crimes.

I was proud to meet with members of the International Association of Forensic Nurses this week to discuss their work, ongoing efforts to strengthen the nursing workforce, and ways we can address sexual violence and support survivors.
