I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! This week, the House of Representatives passed a meaningful, bipartisan tax package to move our country forward and provide relief for hardworking families in New Hampshire and across the country.

These reforms will help put money back in the pockets of New Hampshire families and businesses.

This tax cut package is a major win for New Hampshire — it expands the Child Tax Credit and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit, incentivizes research and development, delivers relief to small businesses, and more.

I’ll keep fighting to lower costs for families, empower small businesses, and boost innovation.

I’m pleased that this bill expands the Child Tax Credit to help lift thousands of children out of poverty, benefiting an estimated 29,000 children in New Hampshire in the first year alone!

By expanding the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, this legislation will help the state build more desperately needed affordable housing — a win-win for families and our economy!

Addressing Homelessness in New Hampshire

We can and must do more to ensure everyone in New Hampshire has a safe place to call home.

This week, I was proud to announce that New Hampshire is set to receive more than $12 million in federal funding to help local organizations combat homelessness and support our most vulnerable neighbors.

These significant federal funds will go a long way for communities and organizations throughout our state to provide those in need with safe, stable housing and urgently needed resources. I’m committed to finding long-term solutions to address homelessness in New Hampshire, expand access to affordable housing, and ensure no one is left in the cold this winter.

Supporting Granite State Educators

I’ll always fight for our hardworking Granite State educators.

Also this week, I was proud to lead legislation to help schools recruit, train, and retain paraeducators and ensure students have the support they need to thrive in school.

In New Hampshire and across the country, instructional assistants and paraeducators go above and beyond to help students receive a high-quality education and thrive in school, but they continue to be undervalued and underpaid.

This legislation takes meaningful steps to change that and gives these hardworking educators the support they need to stay in the classroom and help students succeed.

Black History Month: February is Black History Month — a time to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions Black American leaders and pioneers have made to our country.

This month and every month, we recommit ourselves to building a more just and equitable nation for all.

The More You Know: The Department of Health and Human Services recently launched LowerDrugCosts.gov, a resource hub to ensure people with Medicare are aware of all the ways beneficiaries may see prescription drug savings thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act.
