The ongoing nationwide infant formula shortage — caused by the contaminated production site — is impacting families across New Hampshire, and I’m working to ensure we use every tool possible to expand supply and improve access.

I will continue working to ensure every Granite State family has the formula they need to feed their children.

This week, the House passed legislation to quickly get formula to families who participate in WIC and provide emergency funding to produce more formula and prevent future shortages.

I will continue pushing the Biden administration to take quick, action-based steps to address this shortage.

Earlier this week, I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to President Joe Biden to urge his administration to use every tool at their disposal to address the infant formula shortage. I also called on the administration to use the Defense Production Act of 1950 to ramp up formula production and increase the importation of formula from abroad. I was pleased to see the administration heed these calls to address this issue. 

While the White House has already taken critical steps to increase supply, more must be done to ensure families across New Hampshire have access to the formula their children need.

It is unconscionable that Big Oil companies are using Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine as an excuse to rake in record profits and take advantage of American families at the gas pump.

On Thursday, I voted for critical legislation to stop Big Oil from ripping off hardworking Americans. The Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act would grant the president the power to issue an emergency energy proclamation outlawing the sale of consumer fuels — fuel for cars, airplanes, home heating oil, and liquid propane — at artificially high prices during the emergency period.

I will continue working to end these anti-consumer practices to ensure hardworking families are not being taken advantage of at the pump.

This week, I joined my fellow New Dems for a press conference on our work and our vision for the future.

This week, I joined my fellow New Democrat Coalition colleagues to celebrate 25 years of the New Dems! The largest Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives, New Dems are focused on advancing pro-economic growth, pro-innovation, and fiscally responsible policies.

I am proud to serve as Vice Chair of Communications for this solutions-oriented coalition and to help bridge the gap between left and right. 

I am proud to be leading the charge in Congress to address the rising cost of prescription drugs and bolster our health care system.

Granite Staters are paying too much for prescription drugs. This week in the Energy and Commerce Committee, I advanced my legislation to get cheaper medications to folks in New Hampshire, as well as a slate of bills to address the mental health and addiction crisis. The Energy and Commerce Committee also advanced legislation included in the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force’s 2021 Legislative Agenda.

These bills will put commonsense solutions into law for the benefit of our country, our mental health system, and our economy.

The legislation advanced by this committee will go a long way to upgrade our nutrition infrastructure for generations to come.

This week in the Agriculture Committee, I helped advance commonsense, bipartisan legislation to bolster our food supply chains, establish a more resilient production infrastructure, and prevent future delays. 

Our Granite State farmers and producers are the backbone of our local food supply chains, and it is essential that we support them as they work to deliver healthy, nutritious food to our communities. I will continue working to bring the voices of our New Hampshire farms to Congress.

I will continue working to ensure our Granite State employers have the workforce they need to serve our communities.

This week, I was proud to vote for innovative legislation to expand access to job and career training for people in New Hampshire and across the country to develop the skills they need to join the workforce. 

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2022 will help businesses across the Granite State fill vacant positions and hire the skilled workers they need — a win-win for our communities and our economy.

I will continue to bring the voices of our service members to Congress.

My staff work day in and day out to support families across New Hampshire’s Second District.

Helping Granite State families navigate federal agencies to get the support they need is a critical function of my office. I was so proud that over the past few weeks, my staff helped a family from New London return home from lockdown in Shanghai, China with their newborn child.

Our country has worked tirelessly to push back against COVID-19 — vaccines and booster shots are a key tool toward maintaining and building on this progress. This week, I was glad to see the FDA authorize the first vaccine booster for children ages 5 to 11 to help our students stay in school and get back to their lives, safely.

At-home COVID-19 testing can help stop the spread in our communities.

U.S. households are now able to order an additional eight free at-home COVID tests — bringing the total number of free tests available to each household since the start of the program to 16.

🛂 Make sure your passport is not expired. If it is, you will need to renew it ASAP.

✈️ Some countries will require you to have a valid passport 6 months prior to entry.

✔️ You can enroll in STEP to ensure you are accessible in case of emergency (step.state.gov/)
