Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), the lead Democrat on the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, released the following statement on the VA Office of Inspector General report that outlined improper use of government funds by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, David Shulkin:

“The proper use of taxpayer resources is crucial for all government employees. The OIG report outlining misuse of federal funds by Secretary Shulkin at best shows extreme carelessness and at worst is evidence of willful abuse of taxpayer dollars. Secretary Shulkin must immediately address the allegations in this report. Our veterans and the American people deserve to know the full facts of this situation and be assured that public officials within the VA are working fully on their behalf.”
