Kuster Votes in Favor of Hurricane Harvey Relief, Debt Ceiling Increase, Funding Government Operations

Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) today voted in favor of bipartisan legislation to provide disaster aid to communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The legislation will also increase the debt ceiling and fund government operations until December 8, 2017.

“Today, Congress took an important step to avoid a costly government shutdown or devastating default on our national debt,” said Congresswoman Kuster, “Brinkmanship over these issues is irresponsible and it’s long past time we crafted a responsible budget that prioritizes middle class families and responsibly uses taxpayer dollars. I encourage my colleagues to work across the aisle in the coming months to advance commonsense tax reform to boost our economy and create jobs, stabilize our healthcare system, and provide protections for young DACA recipients. The American people deserve a Congress that works and now is the time to get down to business.

“I’m also pleased that Congress was able to come together to provide support for communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey. As Hurricane Irma begins to threaten Florida, we should remain committed to supporting our friends and neighbors across the country who face hardship due to natural disasters.”
