Rep. Kuster Announces $68,572 to Support Senior Volunteer Service in Coos County

Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) announced that Coos County will receive $68,752 in funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) to support 350 Senior Corps volunteers. The grant, awarded to Tri-County Community Action Program, Inc. will expand the presence of Senior Corps RSVP programming in Coos County. Rep. Kuster has supported robust funding for CNCS funding in New Hampshire.

“This funding will strengthen communities and improve lives across Coos County,” said Rep. Kuster. “I am pleased to see New Hampshire’s Senior Corps volunteers stay active and healthy through community service. Supporting these volunteers and expanding their work will help empower them to make positive contributions to their communities.”

The funds were awarded as part of a grant competition to strengthen and expand RSVP programming. RSVP engages Americans age 55 and older in citizen service that addresses the nation’s most pressing challenges, including fighting the opioid epidemic, connecting veterans to jobs and benefits, and ensuring seniors age independently and with dignity.
