Dear Friend,
Protecting Access to Healthcare
On Wednesday, I was proud to join my House and Senate colleagues for a press conference to defend the right to healthcare for Granite Staters and folks nationwide. The Trump Administration’s repeated attacks on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) threaten millions of Americans living with preexisting conditions - we cannot turn back the clock to a time where these people could be denied coverage or charged more for care simply because of the state of their health. That’s why I voted in favor of H.R. 987, the Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act, which passed the House yesterday. This legislation includes three bills that would make prescription drugs more affordable by helping lower-priced generic drugs get to market faster and four measures that would safeguard protections for people with pre-existing conditions and increase the number of Americans enrolled in quality, affordable health coverage. I urge Senate Majority Leader McConnell to bring this bill to the Senate floor so we can protect the care of Americans everywhere.

Delivering the Weekly Democratic Address
I had the honor of delivering the Weekly Democratic Address, where I highlighted the passage of my legislation, the Protecting Americans with Pre-Existing Conditions Act, and the Strengthening Health Care and Lowering Prescription Drug Costs Act, as well as my Health Care Listening tour throughout New Hampshire’s second congressional district. To put it simply, my colleagues and I hear you. You are sick and tired of being sick and tired. House Democrats will continue our fight to pass our For the People Agenda, to strengthen our health care system and lower prescription drugs. We urge the Senate to act now.

Equality for All
Today, I voted in favor of H.R. 5, the Equality Act, which passed the House. No American should be denied housing, a job, education, or the opportunity to apply for federal funding because of who they are or who they love. This legislation will help ensure LGBTQ Americans have access to basic human rights regardless of where they live, work or go to school. I’m pleased the House passed this commonsense measure and I will continue fighting for equal rights and justice for all.
Investing in Our Nation’s Infrastructure
I was proud to join my Democratic colleagues on the Energy and Commerce Committee to introduce an infrastructure package, the Leading Infrastructure for Tomorrow’s America (LIFT America) Act to address climate change, expand broadband internet access, and invest in America’s healthcare infrastructure. Failing to invest in our nation’s infrastructure is not an option, and this bill will improve public safety and support our economic competitiveness in the Granite State. We need to bring America’s infrastructure into the 21st century, and I am glad to help introduce legislation that will make critical investments in our nation’s future.
Here For You
As your Congresswoman, one of my biggest responsibilities is supporting Granite Staters when they need help with federal agencies. I was contacted by Carolyn Jerard of Acworth, who had an issue of concern regarding her Part D billing with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). My staff worked with CMS and helped resolve Carolyn’s issue. If my office may be of assistance with a problem you are experiencing, please reach out to my staff at 603-226-1002 so we can learn how we may help.
I encourage you to reach out to any of my offices with questions, concerns or ideas you have. I love hearing from you! Thank you for everything you do to make New Hampshire such a great place to live. Enjoy your weekend!
Sincerely,
