Last week, I joined with members of the Bipartisan Heroin Task Force to release our legislative agenda for 2018. In the years since I formed the Task Force, it has grown in size to 100 Members of Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, underscoring the widespread impact of the opioid epidemic. We’ve been successful in pushing legislative solutions to the opioid epidemic. Just in November, my legislation, the VA Prescription Data Accountability Act, was signed into law and last Wednesday, President Trump signed the INTERDICT Act into law, both of which are part of our agenda. Our legislative agenda for the coming year includes bipartisan, commonsense solutions that will improve prevention, expand access to treatment and recovery services, and bolster support for law enforcement. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance these proposals.
