Kuster Statement on Surgeon General Advisory Urging More Americans to Carry Naloxone
Concord, N.H.,
April 5, 2018
(Concord, NH) - Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), the founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Heroin Task Force, released the following statement on the U.S. Surgeon General’s advisory encouraging more Americans to carry the overdose reversal drug Naloxone: “The opioid epidemic is having a devastating impact on communities throughout our state and it requires an all hands on deck response,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “Naloxone is a critical tool for saving lives and giving people suffering an overdose a chance to get their lives on the right path. I support this advisory but without strengthening prevention, treatment and recovery efforts, we’ll simply be treating the symptom instead of the cause of this crisis. I’ll continue to fight to ensure that those on the frontlines of the opioid epidemic in New Hampshire receive the resources they need to support individuals struggling with substance use disorder and save lives.” ### |
