(Concord, NH) – Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), the founder and co-chair of the Bipartisan Heroin Task Force, released the following statement on the lawsuit against Perdue Pharma issued by the New Hampshire Attorney General:

“We know that the opioid epidemic has been fueled by the high rate of opioid prescribing by physicians, dentists and health care providers,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “We need to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for their role in marketing and encouraging high rates of opioid prescribing. I urge pharmaceutical companies to work with medical prescribers to reduce the use of opioids and with treatment providers to increase access to care for those seeking treatment and long term recovery.”
