Kuster Statement on Paycheck Protection Program Funding

Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the exhaustion of funding for the Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program (PPP):

“Small businesses across New Hampshire have sought financial relief through the Paycheck Protection Program to keep paying their workers and cover businesses expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic. I want to commend our small business lenders and community banks who have worked around the clock with businesses to secure PPP financing and navigate through a period of great economic uncertainty. Last week, I called on Senate Majority Leader McConnell and Speaker Pelosi to increase funding for PPP - we must act with great urgency to bolster this program so that no Granite State business is left behind.

“Reopening our economy and getting Granite Staters back to work goes hand-in-hand with addressing the COVID-19 public health crisis. We must ensure that our hospitals, health centers and front-line health workers have the resources they need to care for patients, mitigate the spread of this virus and protect public health so that we can get our economy up and running again. I urge Leader McConnell and Speaker Pelosi to advance bipartisan funding that addresses these needs without delay.”
