Today, Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) visited Lamprey Health Care to tour the facility and meet with its leadership to discuss Lamprey’s work and the importance of the federal funding it receives. Lamprey Health Care is one of many federally qualified health centers (FQHC) across the nation, and has provided health services to the Nashua area for nearly 50 years. In January, the Congresswoman sent a letter of support to the Health Resources and Services Administration advocating for sustained funding at Lamprey.

“Community health centers like Lamprey are critical to the wellbeing of Granite Staters,” said Kuster. “Folks nationwide depend on community health centers, but there have been challenges in securing the sustained funding necessary to keep these centers operating. I will continue to work to secure funding for facilities like Lamprey so communities in New Hampshire and nationwide have access to the care they need.”

This visit to Lamprey was part of the Congresswoman’s health care listening tour across New Hampshire’s Second District, which she kicked off in February. Kuster has made clear the need to make improvements to the Affordable Care Act and has put forward solutions to improve access to affordable health care. Her legislation, the Protecting Americans with Preexisting Conditions Act, passed the House of Representatives with bipartisan support in May. As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, Kuster will highlight the perspective of Granite Staters as she works to lower costs and increase access to health care.
