Kuster Statement on Decision of the Senate to Delay Vote on Republican Healthcare Bill

Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the decision by Senate leadership to delay a vote on their healthcare bill, which an analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office determined would cost 22 million Americans their health insurance:

“The decision by Senate Republican Leadership to delay a vote on their misguided healthcare bill is a win for hardworking families in New Hampshire and across the country. It’s the collective voice of everyone who took the time to call and write their Senators that helped lawmakers know that this legislation is not the right future for our nation. Their bill would have slashed Medicaid funding - hurting families, babies, seniors in nursing homes, those suffering from substance misuse, and the most vulnerable among us. I hope that moving forward my colleagues on the other side of the aisle will abandon their efforts to strip insurance from thousands of Granite Staters and millions of Americans and instead focus on bipartisan, commonsense solutions to improve our healthcare system for all.”
