Kuster Statement on Senate Decision to Not Vote on Graham Cassidy Healthcare Bill

Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the decision by Senate Leadership to not vote on the Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill. Earlier this year, Kuster and nine House Democrats from across the political spectrum unveiled a five-part plan to improve upon the Affordable Care Act and stabilize the individual marketplace.

“Once again people from across the country have made their voices heard and put a stop to the most recent attack on access to healthcare,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “This ‘Graham-Cassidy’ version of Trumpcare would have been devastating for Granite State families, slashing $410 million in healthcare funding for New Hampshire by 2026 and threatening access to care for people with pre-existing conditions. In recent weeks, I’ve discussed with Republican colleagues various proposals to stabilize the individual marketplace and rein in costs. I genuinely believe that there are many areas of agreement that can be reached to improve our healthcare system and I’m hopeful that my colleagues on both sides of the aisle will come to the table in good faith to get this done for the American people.”
