Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on the signing of H.J. Res 43 by President Donald Trump. The resolution would allow states to selectively withhold funding to healthcare providers that offer family planning services.

“At a time when Congress needs to come together to improve access to healthcare for all Americans, President Trump is signing partisan legislation that could reduce access to comprehensive healthcare services for women across the country,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “This resolution is nothing more than an attempt to defund Planned Parenthood, which provides important healthcare services to thousands of women in New Hampshire. We should be looking to expand access to healthcare, not restrict it to score political points. I’ll continue to focus on how we can improve our healthcare system for all Americans.”
