Concord, N.H — Today, Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s announcement that he will reopen the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) online marketplace, HealthCare.gov.
“No one should be forced to choose between their health insurance and putting food on the table,” said Rep. Kuster. “Access to affordable, quality health insurance for all Granite Staters is crucial, especially during a public health crisis like COVID-19. I’m pleased President Biden is putting the needs of Americans first and will fulfill his promise to reopen the ACA’s online Marketplace and help those who need health insurance get covered. I will continue working to ensure individuals and families in New Hampshire have the support they need to get through this pandemic.”
A member of the Energy and Commerce Committee Health Subcommittee, Rep. Kuster has been a strong advocate for improving the ACA and expanding access to affordable health insurance. Kuster called on the previous administration to reopen the ACA Marketplace and create a special enrollment period to provide coverage options for families during COVID-19. In September of 2020, Rep. Kuster spoke about the impact of the ACA on Granite State families and individuals during the COVID crisis. Last year, she also hosted a roundtable on the importance of the ACA.
