Lebanon, N.H. — Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) continued her Affordable Housing Week at Green Street Commons, where she met with staff from Visions for Creative Housing Solutions and heard the latest updates. Green Street Commons is one of three Visions locations in the state and provides secure, permanent housing to Upper Valley adults with developmental differences and disabilities.

“It was great to tour Visions’ recently completed Lebanon property today and I valued the opportunity to hear first-hand about their progress, as well as updates about their newest project in Hanover,” said Rep. Kuster. “There is a serious lack of affordable housing across our communities, and I am incredibly proud of the work Visions has done over the past few years to provide supportive housing for adults with developmental disabilities. I was proud to support the LIFELINE Act and lead the charge in ensuring funds from the American Rescue Plan can be used for affordable housing, and I will continue working to support efforts to expand the availability of housing so that our communities and our economy can thrive.”

“Representative Kuster's visit demonstrates a level of recognition and support for which we are extremely grateful,” said Sylvia Kluge Dow, Executive Director, Visions for Creative Housing Solutions. “We’re excited she has gotten to see, first hand, the important role Visions plays in the lives of some of our community's most vulnerable citizens.”

Rep. Kuster launched her Affordable Housing Week yesterday in Claremont at the Goddard Block Apartments. Affordable housing is in short supply across New Hampshire, and Kuster is committed to collaborative efforts to expand the availability of safe, accessible housing. This week, she will be holding conversations throughout the Second Congressional District about ways to expand the availability of housing that is affordable and accessible.

Congresswoman Kuster cosponsored the bipartisan LIFELINE Act and was instrumental in getting the Treasury Department to unlock an additional $8 billion for affordable housing from the American Rescue Plan Act’s State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund. Rep. Kuster recently voted to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which has now been signed into law and takes historic action to lower costs for Granite Staters.
