  • Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force 118th Congress

Washington, D.C. — Today, the co-chairs of the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force, Reps. Annie Kuster (NH-02), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), and David Trone (MD-06), met to highlight the Task Force’s wins in the 117th Congress and recommit to its bipartisan mission of addressing the issues of mental health and substance use disorder. Following the meeting, the Members released the following statement:

“Last Congress, our bipartisan Task Force helped secure real progress towards addressing the ongoing crisis of substance use disorder across the country. We helped deliver much-needed resources to the hardest hit communities, expand access to life-saving treatment and recovery programs, and support law enforcement officers to hold illicit distributors accountable. But, our work is not over. As we begin the 118th Congress, we stand more determined than ever to continue this important work and help save lives.”

In the 117th Congress, the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force was comprised of more than 140 Members working across the aisle to end the addiction crisis. The omnibus spending package for FY 23 included 17 bills from the Task Force’s 2021 Legislative Agenda, all of which were led or co-led by both a Republican and a Democrat.
