Kuster Tours Rosemary’s Way Apartments, Highlights Work To Expand Access To Affordable Housing

Concord, NH — Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) visited Rosemary’s Way Apartments, a CATCH Neighborhood Housing affordable development. While touring the site, Kuster emphasized the contributions of Rosemary Heard, the former President and CEO of the organization, who sadly passed away in December 2020 and whose dedicated leadership and crucial contributions to housing across the state helped make this development a reality. Rosemary’s Way Apartments consists of 42 affordable one, two, and three-bedroom units.

“No Granite Stater should worry about having a safe place to call home,” said Kuster. “Access to affordable, quality housing is essential to our state’s continued economic growth. Dedicated community leaders like Rosemary Heard and CATCH have been critical partners in expanding access to affordable workforce housing. Thank you to the incredible staff and leadership at CATCH for meeting with me today to discuss their work and ways the federal government can help strengthen their mission and support communities here in New Hampshire.”

“We are grateful for Rep. Kuster’s continued partnership,” commented Tom Furtado, President and CEO of CATCH Neighborhood Housing. “Access to safe, affordable housing remains a tremendous challenge for families throughout Merrimack County. It is truly an all hands on deck moment for organizations like ours, local employers, and our elected representatives at all levels. Open communication and collaboration are imperative to ensure we solve this problem once and for all.”

CATCH Neighborhood Housing has been operating for over thirty years to make affordable, quality housing a reality for New Hampshire. Kuster has strongly supported Rosemary’s Way since before construction in January 2021 until it was completed in January 2022. This project used essential Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) allocations and received additional funding through NH Housing Finance Authority, Eastern Bank, and others.
