“The Fourth of July represents an opportunity to gather with friends, family, and loved ones and celebrate our country’s founding and the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed to secure the freedoms we hold dear. It is also a time to reflect on the ideals and principles that make our country a beacon of hope and strength around the world.

“As we celebrate our independence, we must also recommit to upholding the values of liberty and justice for all that define our country. Today, we acknowledge the power of the American promise and the work that remains to build a more perfect union and to ensure freedom for all.
